A new carrier, lower rates, and the same coverage for your employees
The change happens on your policy anniversary, January 1, 2027. Here is what it means for your group.
Underwritten by The Standard
Standard Insurance Company becomes the carrier for AMT's Group Basic Life and AD&D program under Group Policy 764933. Coverage continues without interruption.
Lower rates, automatically
The AMT Agency negotiated age-banded rates 59 to 60% below AMT's current rates. They apply automatically to your group's existing coverage, starting with your January 2027 invoice.
Serviced by The AMT Agency
AMT's wholly owned agency administers the program: enrollment, changes, claims support and billing questions. Same team, same office, one bill.
Added services at no extra cost
Every insured employee gains access to The Standard's Life Services Toolkit and Travel Assistance, and beneficiaries receive grief, legal and financial support after a claim.
One-time opportunity to increase coverage
With the move to The Standard, your group may raise the Basic Life and AD&D benefit for all employees to any amount from $10,000 to $50,000, in $5,000 steps, effective January 1, 2027. Your group's notice letter shows exactly what each option costs. To keep your current amount or to increase it, return the 2027 Enrollment / Change Request form by December 1, 2026.

Temporary or seasonal employees, full-time members of the armed forces, leased employees and independent contractors are not eligible.

Employees who are members on January 1, 2027 are eligible on that date.
Employees who become members later are eligible on the first day of the month following or coinciding with the date they become a member.

Option A (all employees): the employer selects one amount for all active employees, from $10,000 to $50,000 in multiples of $5,000.

What a rate means on your invoice
Premium is the coverage amount in thousands multiplied by the rate for the employee's age band.
Rates include The Standard's AD&D coverage, which pays in addition to the life benefit.
Premium for employees aged 65 and over is based on the reduced benefit shown in age reductions.
Retired members are insured for $1,000; the retiree rate is shown on your group's notice.
